A book is a set or collection of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of paper, parchment, or other various material, usually fastened together to hinge at one side. A single sheet within a book is called a leaf, and each side of a leaf is called a page. A book produced in electronic format is known as an electronic book (e-book).

Books may also refer to works of literature, or a main division of such a work. In library and information science, a book is called a monograph, to distinguish it from serial periodicals such as magazines, journals or newspapers. The body of all written works including books is literature. In novels and sometimes other types of books (e.g biographies), a book may be divided into several large sections, also called books (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, etc). A lover of books is usually referred to as a bibliophile, a bibliophilist, or a philobiblist, or, more informally, a bookworm.

A store where books are bought and sold is a bookstore or bookshop. Books can also be borrowed from libraries.

What are some books that teens should read before they age to 21?
Q. My plan is to grow up with a good head on my shoulders, and I believe that books are the key. I like books with meaning, but don't we all? I need books about, love, friendship, hope, family, life, happiness, soul, knowlege, etc, etc. I am thirteen, and i read everything. Any books with good lessons, and are just plain breath taking? Thank you!

A. I think these books are absolutely perfect for you, they're just what you're looking for, and they're classics so they are things that I think everyone should read: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Emma by Jane Austen Persuasion by Jane Austen Sense and Sensiblity by Jane Austen Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte Jane Eyre by Charlottle Bronte Trust me you'll love them! They have every quality that you have mentioned and they are timeless and loved by so many people! I could read them all several times and never get tired of them. They all have good lessons and are just plain breath taking!

What books would you suggest to a girl entering high school?
Q. My dad doesn't like me on the computer, so he told me he'd take me to the library later to get some books. I'm not sure what to get though. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Preferably books that will open my eyes about something. Don't suggest anything from Stephanie Meyer or Sarah Dessen, I've read their books already.

What books have eagerly awaited and then been dissapointed by?
Q. I recently got the first five books from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files for a lovely reading marathon. I love paranormal stuff, and he came so highly recommended I was champing at the bit in anticipation of a new series with many instalments to look forward to. I've only managed the first two and am really disappointed. I can't figure out why they haven't clicked with me. Have you ever had this happen with a book?

A. I kept reading reviews about a book called "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" that made it sound like it was brilliant. It WASN'T, and I hate reading a whole book waiting for something to happen and nothing interesting ever does.
